Domains and installation

Where your chatbot may answer, the code for your website, and how to check it works.

Domains

A chatbot answers only on the domains you allow, so your code is useless anywhere else. Open Domains and installation → Domains → Add domain.

  • Each domain allows itself and www. Switch on Allow all subdomains only if every subdomain should work.
  • Extra hosts add other exact addresses.
  • Never *, *.com, IP addresses or localhost for Production.

Verify a Production domain

A new Production domain is verified with a DNS record first; until then the widget doesn't answer there.

  1. 01

Where the domain is registered: registrar or hosting.

Open the DNS settings where the domain is registered (your registrar or hosting).

  2. 02
  3. 03

Development domains need no verification and may use localhost or an IP address. They never serve your Production version.

Install the code

Copy the code from Installation and paste it before </body> on every page, usually in your shared template:

index.html
<script src="https://oryvox.ai/widgets/sales-chatbot.js"
        data-key="pk_..."
        defer></script>
Your websiteWhere to paste it
Any HTML siteBefore </body> in the shared template (footer.php, a layout, or a "Custom code" field).
WordPressAppearance → Theme file editor → footer.php, or any "Insert headers and footers" plugin, footer section.
ShopifyOnline Store → Themes → Edit code → layout/theme.liquid, just before </body>.
WixSettings → Custom code → Add code, place: Body – end, on all pages.
WebflowSite settings → Custom code → Footer code, then publish the site.

The key in the code is public: it only works on your allowed domains. Never put an API key or the identity secret in a web page.

Check it works

Open your website once: the chat button should appear at the bottom. Then press Check now. The card shows Widget found and when it was last seen. The chatbot's status turns Live.

Development preview

Open preview opens an ORYVOX page with the real widget, only for you. It runs the Development version and isn't counted as a conversation.

JavaScript SDK

Control the chat from your site's code: open it, pass the product or cart, identify signed-in customers. See Add the chat to your website.
