Behaviour
Who your chatbot is, how it talks, what it always keeps to and what it never does.
Behaviour decides how the chatbot speaks and acts. Changes are saved to the draft and go live when you publish.
The basics
| Setting | What it changes |
|---|---|
| Agent | An agent from Marketplace adds a way of working, such as active selling, with its own name and face. No agent: it works by your settings only. |
| Chatbot name | Shown in the widget header. |
| Company | On whose behalf it speaks. |
| About the business | The most important facts that aren't on your website: what you sell, to whom, prices you're happy to share, how ordering works. This is knowledge too. |
| Tone | Friendly, Formal or Brief. |
| Greeting | The first message when a visitor opens the chat. |
| Rules | What it always keeps to, one rule per line. |
Never promise delivery dates.
Suggest a call for orders over 1,000 €.
Always give prices including VAT.Until About the business is filled in, the chatbot relies only on its knowledge sources. Two sentences about prices and ordering make answers much more precise.
Start from a template
A template fills in the settings below; your languages and advanced instruction stay. Nothing changes until you save.
| Template | Works like |
|---|---|
| Customer support | Strict facts, hands over when needed. |
| Sales | Recommends and moves to a quote. |
| Lead generation | Qualifies and asks only what's missing. |
| Product assistant | Explains features and compares. |
| Blank | Starts from the defaults. |
Role, mission and limits
- Role: a few words, e.g. customer support assistant.
- Mission: one or two sentences, the outcome every conversation should reach.
- Objectives: in order of priority, up to 10.
- Constraints: what it never does. Platform safety rules always apply on top and can't be changed.
Tone and personality
Six dials set the voice: formality, friendliness, confidence, technical depth, creativity and response length. Each dial maps to a fixed phrase in the instruction, the same scale ORYVOX agents use.
Response style: conversational, concise or structured; one question at a time; short bullet lists for steps; at most one emoji per reply.
Response policy: sentences per reply, a maximum length, and how it ends a reply when the visitor is interested: no call to action, gentle or active.
Accuracy
| Setting | Options |
|---|---|
| Hallucination policy | Strict: business facts only from knowledge and tools (recommended for support). Balanced: general explanations allowed, never presented as company facts. Creative: free wording and ideas; company facts still only from knowledge. |
| When it can't answer | Offer a person, suggest a next step, or ask to clarify. It never invents missing information. |
| Citations | Never, when useful, or always for knowledge answers. Sources come only from what it actually used; internal sources are never shown. |
| Confidence thresholds | For the answer, the knowledge support and tool results. Below a threshold it says it's unsure, asks a clarifying question, hands over or offers a form. |
Model
ORYVOX picks the model for each message through ORYVOX Core:
| Policy | Best for |
|---|---|
| ORYVOX Auto | The cheapest model good enough for each message. |
| Quality | Stronger models: complex products and sales. |
| Balanced | A balance of quality, price and speed. |
| Fast | The quickest models: short answers, lowest wait. |
Compiled instruction
At the bottom you can see the instruction generated from your settings. The same settings always give the same text. An optional Advanced instruction adds free text after it; it never overrides the platform rules.
